One for all! All for one! - The Three musketeers
In this post, I will be blogging on a book which has one of the most gripping plots ever, "The Three Musketeers".
Written by Alexandre Dumas, the main story arc concerns a young man named d' Artagnan who arrives at Paris, to join the King's musketeers(highly ranked soldiers). In Paris, he meets the three musketeers, Athos, Porthos and Aramis and they become friends. Together they go on missions to save France from enemies and protect themselves from wily spies as well. The musketeer's phrase 'One for all, All for one' is eternal. An other famous story written by Dumas is "The Count Of Monte Cristo", which is a personal favourite of mine.😎
The Three Musketeers captures medieval France and England in the 1700's. I could understand the political situation in those times; how small arguments can transform into fights between countries! We can also see how weak monarchs are taken over by lower officials. In this book, the prime minister has full control over the country and the King is afraid of him as well.
A reason why I am head over heels in love with this book is because of it's enthralling plot and breathtaking description. The sword fights have been so vividly described that the visual image in my mind is very realistic. There are also areas where it becomes very dramatic. I could never guess what came in next.😌😂
My favourite character in this book is Athos. He is the oldest and wisest of the musketeers. I like him because of his sangfroid attitude. He has saved d' Artagnan from tricky situations as well.
I would strongly recommend you to read this book as it is very entertaining. I would recommend you to read the Count of Monte Cristo as well.😃
Nice narration. Keep it up!. Happy to know that you have used the word "sangfroid" which was in our radar for quiet sometime.
