Life of Pi - One Boy, One Boat, One Tiger
In this blog, I will be writing on one of the most interesting books ever, "Life of Pi".
Published in 2001, this book, written by Yann Martel, is the recipient for the Man Booker Prize. The story is about a boy named Piscine Molitor"Pi" Patel, who survives on a lifeboat for 227 days on the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal Tiger named Richard Parker for company. This has also been made into a film of the same name by director Ang Lee staring Irrfan Khan and Suraj Sharma in the lead roles. It is a very nice film and I am sure all of you would have watched it!!
Life of Pi captures the need for practicality and religion as it's main themes. It also tells us to care for animals and not to misunderstand them. As religion is a main part of the book, it tells us to respect all religions and faiths as well.
Few reasons why I like this book are:
1. It is very gripping - The story is very interesting and fun to read. There were parts where I didn't know what was going to come next. It has an amazing plot which is out of the world!!
2. The book is super funny😂 - It is written in a very humourous way. There are a lot of subtle jokes which leaves you pleased and light-hearted.
3. One of the best styles of narration - The way how Martel has unfolded the story through Pi's eyes is simply unbelievable. It is very smooth and made me feel like I'm in the story.
I like Pi Patel because he never gave up hope and he loved Richard Parker a lot. I also admire his resourcefulness.
I strongly recommend you to read this book as well as watch the Life of Pi movie as I am sure you will love it and find it interesting😃
Super dude
