The Militvaa Challenge - Part 2

In my previous post, I wrote on what the Militvaa Challenge was about and my idea on selling sandwiches. In this blog, I will be writing on my sandwich business. I decided to make the Tomato and Cucumber sandwich and the Corn and Mayonnaise sandwich. I chose them because they are my personal favourites. The cost of preparing each sandwich was rupees thirty. In order to get a healthy profit of rupees thirty with each sandwich, I sold them at rupees sixty. As my apartment complex is quite big and many people live there, I could sell many sandwiches. I went door to door taking orders. I first told the customer what the Militvaa challenge was and its good cause. I then took the order, went home and made the sandwiches. One and a half years back, my school (HLC International) collaborated with the Ink Link Charitable Trust  to come up with a stupendous social initiative. Ink Link Charitable Trust is run by Mr. Kaustav and Lily Aunty who are both pioneers in the field of Fashion Technology. The Ink Link Charitable Trust helps the underprivileged children of Kannagi Nagar, which is a socially and economically backward area in Chennai. Through the money collected, the trust helps in buying children their school books, stationary and other useful items. As Kannagi Nagar faces problems daily, they try to solve a few problems in the neighborhood and even come to teach English to the children as well!! The initiative was called the ' Militvaa Challenge '. Each student(there were thirty) received a capital of 500  rupees . We were also provided with an income and balance sheet.
