The Militvaa Challenge - Part 1

One and a half years back, my school (HLC International) collaborated with the Ink Link Charitable Trust to come up with a stupendous social initiative. Ink Link Charitable Trust is run by Mr. Kaustav and Lily Aunty who are both pioneers in the field of Fashion Technology.

The Ink Link Charitable Trust helps the underprivileged children of Kannagi Nagar, which is a socially and economically backward area in Chennai. Through the money collected, the trust helps in buying children their school books, stationary and other useful items. As Kannagi Nagar faces problems daily, they try to solve a few problems in the neighborhood and even come to teach English to the children as well!!

The initiative was called the 'Militvaa Challenge'. Each student(there were thirty) received a capital of 500  rupees . We were also provided with an income and balance sheet. The idea was that we should use the capital amount to start any business we want. We ran our business from the beginning of our Christmas holidays till half of January 2018. Our profits were then added and proceeded to the Ink Link Charitable Trust so that they could use the funds to help and support the children of Kannagi Nagar in more ways.

As I sat on my chair, rotating in circles, a brilliant idea struck me!! As I have previously had many endeavours and successes with food and the culinary world, I thought, 'Why not start a sandwich business?'

Make sure you read my next post to find out my sublime experiences with sandwich making, as well as implementing some amazing business tactics 😃
