The Militvaa Challenge - Part 2

In my previous post, I wrote on what the Militvaa Challenge was about and my idea on selling sandwiches. In this blog, I will be writing on my sandwich business.

I decided to make the Tomato and Cucumber sandwich and the Corn and Mayonnaise sandwich. I chose them because they are my personal favourites. The cost of preparing each sandwich was rupees thirty. In order to get a healthy profit of rupees thirty with each sandwich, I sold them at rupees sixty. As my apartment complex is quite big and many people live there, I could sell many sandwiches.

I went door to door taking orders. I first told the customer what the Militvaa challenge was and its good cause. I then took the order, went home and made the sandwiches. It usually took me fifteen to twenty minutes to prepare the sandwiches for the order, which would usually consist of two Tomato and Cucumber sandwiches and two Corn and mayonnaise sandwiches. After packing the sandwiches, I went to the customer's house and gave him/her the order. I would like to thank my mother as she helped me make, perfect and pack the sandwiches. However, nothing helped me more than the day of 23 December 2017...

My apartment had collaborated with Decathlon, one of the leading retailing brands in the sports equipment industry, for having a fun sports filled evening. Making use of the opportunity, my mother and I decided to have a sandwich stall there. It was a red letter day in my Militvaa Challenge as my products sold like hot cakes!! What was more satisfying for me was to see the look of ecstasy when the creamy mayonnaise or the juicy tomatoes burst in their mouth. I received many superb comments about my sandwiches which is something that I will treasure.

At the end of one month, I made a whooping profit of rupees 2500. I was delighted as my first business venture went on very well. It helped build my confidence, social skills and persuasive skills. It improved my motor skills as well!! When all of our profits were combined, we reached an amount of rupees 1 lakh 5 thousand!! This huge amount of money had gone in a long way in helping the children of Kannagi Nagar.

In conclusion, I had a blast doing the Militvaa Challenge😃
