In this blog, I will be writing about a book which I devoured recently - A Thousand Splendid Suns . Summary of the Plot Written by Khaled Hosseini in 2007, A Thousand Splendid Suns is set in Afghanistan between the 1970's to 2000's time period. The story arc concerns the life of Mariam, who had a bad childhood and got also married at a young age. Though the marriage and her relationship with her husband, Rasheed, was good at the beginning, it slowly deteriorate and things got worse for her as women of those times in Afghanistan were not allowed to have their own say. My experience on travelling to Sano

In this post, I will be writing on my journey to Sano and about the mega event I attended over there. as well. Sano is a city eighty four km away from Tokyo and is located in the Tochigi prefecture of Japan. My father and I decided to go to Sano to watch the State Bank of India(SBI) Cup. The SBI Cup is a cricket tournament sponsored by SBI. It is a tennis ball tournament and is played by corporate teams. This time there were thirty corporates playing in the tournament. The SBI Cup is usually a two day affair but with the skies opening on the first day, it got shortened to a day. Being cricket fanatics, my father and I didn't want to miss the chance of seeing so much cricket action live; hence, we tagged along with my father's friend and gleefully started our drive to Sano. As the driving time from Tokyo to Sano is over an hour, we decided to take the expressway. In Tokyo, there is both an internal as well as an expressway to go to other cities. An expressway does not hav

Every place is spotlessly clean and after breathing in a slight whiff of the air, I immediately found out that the air was super fresh and it had no pollution.  A reason why Higashi Ojima is a marvel is that though Sera Komatsugawa (my apartment complex) is huge and has over fifteen buildings, there are neatly trimmed trees which are a treat to look at as well as small birds chirping and flying everywhere. This environment creates such a profound impact that even while Higashi Ojima is close to the heart of the bustling Tokyo and has a huge number of people living in it, I, as a resident, get the feeling that I live right in the midst of nature. A huge chunk of the credit goes to
