My journey to Goa
In this post, I will be blogging on my trip to the smallest state in India, "Goa" two years back. I had visited Goa along with my parents and grandmother.
As the flight took off from the Kamaraj domestic terminal Chennai, I watched with a grip of alarm and wonderment as the plane curved from the sea back to land. After an hour and a half's time of travelling with puffy clouds, we finally reached Goa!
Woohoo!😃 I was exhilarated as I placed my first step on the "Jewel of the West Coast", which is my nickname for Goa. We were driven to our resort, "Ramada Caravela" by the taxi owned by the resort. On reching the resort I was awestrucken! With a large pool in the centre and coconut trees everywhere, the 5 star resort was a treat to my eyes. The rooms were private suites and were built in a cottage style. As it was christmas time, the resort was lighted up in a breathtaking way.
The resort owns a stretch of the Varca Beach. It was very clean and was jawdropping. I was thrilled as I swam in the marvellous blue waters. As I had never participated in a water sport earlier, I along with my father went on a Jet Skii half a kilometre into the sea. I was electrified as the Jet Skii was going at 60 km/hr
We had decided to tour Goa as we wanted to explore this marvellous state. We began by touring North Goa. As the important cities in Goa lie on the northern side such as Panaji the capital of the state, the area is full of people bustling around. We visited a dolphin show. This required us to step into a ferry boat and proceed onto the sea till we see dolphins. Eventually after half an hour in the sea, we did see dolphins. They were jumping in and out of the water in groups of six. It was an unforgettable experience.Though North Goa has natural wonders such as the Calangute beach to which we payed a visit, it is polluted in many areas and has lot of traffic due to narrow roads as well. I believe the goverment should widen the roads and take care of the cleanliness as the state is a bustling tourist spot.
The next day, we toured South Goa. I loved South Goa due to it's cleanliness and tranquility. We halted at numerous places for sightseeing such as the Big Foot, Portuguese House, Shanta Durga Temple to name a few. As a local, our driver knew a lot about the history of these places and had no hesitation to pass the valuable information onto us.
After an amazing week's stay, we boarded the flight from the Dabolim airport in Panaji back to Chennai.
I would stongly recommend you to go on a trip to Goa as the silvery sands and picturisque landscapes are irresistable to one and all.😎😃
