With only three days to go, the Tokyo 2020 (2021) Olympic Games have proceeded remarkably well with few hitches. Although Tokyo has seen a rise in Covid cases despite the banning of tourists or citizens to watch the games, there have been no pressing issues as the games have carried on successfully. A flashback to Tokyo's bid for the Olympics: In the 125th International Olympic Committee session in Buenos Aires, Tokyo won the bid for the Summer games in 2020 with more votes than the majority needed. This was a major success for the Japanese government as they had been lobbying hard to host the Olympics.  Furthermore, support from back home in Japan was overwhelming. The Japanese public were jubilant because they could see their homeland hosting the olympics after 56 long years.  An interesting question that can be discussed here is why do governments so desperately want to host the Olympics in their own countries? In this post, I will be blogging on the autobiography of the fastest man on the planet . An international bestseller, " Faster than lightning " , written by Usain Bolt along with Matt Allen, focuses on Bolt's track and field career. From agonizing back injuries to competitive rivals, Bolt's incredible journey has got them all. The way how he has handled them and pushed forward is truly inspiring. The book is  written in an informal way with colloquial words. Bolt expresses his thoughts and feelings in the book. His mentality is such that:  You mock me by words,  I mock you through my races !😎 I like the book because of the flow created by Bolt. The way he has described his struggles and his comebacks are amazing. He has mentioned the vital support given to him by his family, friends and coach Glen Mills   as well. This book is very inspirational. I would strongly recommend this book for you as I believe that this is a must read.😃 ...

In this post, I will be writing on one of my role models, "The little master"  Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar .  Often referred to as the " God of Cricket ", Sachin has captured the hearts of millions all over the world, with his cricketing stroke plays, on and off the field gestures. Sachin holds the records for the most number of hundreds in Test Cricket - 51, and  in ODI cricket - 49. Not only has he accomplished the unbelievable number of   100 International centuries , he was part of the Indian squad, which won the world cup in 2011 as well.  His career spanned 24 years. At the age of 16, he made his test debut for  India against Pakistan in Karachi on November 15, 1989 and he played his final match against the West Indies in Mumbai on November 16, 2013.
